'Safeline Abhiyan' launched for safety of electricity workers

Lucknow, Apr 16 (UNI) In its ongoing efforts to enhance employee safety, the Uttar Pradesh government on Wednesday launched the 'Safeline Abhiyan' through the UP Power Corporation Limited (UPPCL), official sources said here on Wednesday.
Sources said that the initiative, aimed at preventing electrical accidents and ensuring the well-being of field workers, was officially launched online by UPPCL Chairman Dr Ashish Goel. "The campaign aligns with the government's broader vision to improve the safety standards for workers in the power sector, following several reforms and digitalisation steps in the department. It underscores the government's commitment to safeguarding the lives and livelihoods of those working on the front lines of the power sector," they said.
Sources said that under the Safeline Abhiyan, line workers will receive essential safety training while performing their tasks. "The programme is being managed by IntelliSmart, the company responsible for installing smart meters in the Madhyanchal and Paschimanchal Vidyut Vitran Nigam areas," they said.
