11 killed in clash between rival criminal gangs in southern Mexico

Mexico City, Apr 10 (UNI) At least 11 people were killed in a shootout between suspected rival criminal groups in the southern Mexican state of Guerrero, local authorities said.
The bodies of 11 men were found late Tuesday in the community of Rancho Viejo, in the municipality of Tecoanapa, located in the Costa Chica region, according to a statement from the Guerrero State Prosecutor's Office.
Preliminary reports suggest the violence stemmed from a conflict over territorial control between criminal organizations.
