4 terrorists, 1 security personnel killed in separate encounters in Pakistan

Islamabad, Apr 18 (UNI) Four terrorists and one policeman were killed in two different encounters between the militants and security forces in Pakistan's Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province on Friday, the military said.
In KP's Swat district, Four terrorists were killed by security forces, Pakistan military's media wing said.
Weapons and ammunitions were seized by the police from the dead terrorists, who were involved in multiple subversive incidents in that area, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement.
According the statement quoted in Dawn, it was a joint intelligence-based operation carried out by security forces and law enforcement personnel.
In a militant attack in KP's Dera Ismail Khan district, a policeman was killed and four were injured including an officer, Xinhua reported.
According to the news agency, unidentified assailants opened fire on the vehicle, killing one policeman on the spot and injuring the Station House Officer (SHO) along with three other cops before fleeing the scene.
The incident occurred at about 9:20 a.m. local time (0420 GMT), when the SHO was travelling in a private vehicle along with police personnel to appear as witnesses in a terrorism-related court case, the sources said.
Militant attacks and subsequent military operations is on the rise since March this year in Pakistan. Data released by the Pakistan Institute for Conflict and Security Studies states that terror activities are at an all-time high since November 2014. UNI AKT SSP
