Afghan police detain 2 smugglers with 7 kg heroin at Kabul airport

Kabul, May 13 (UNI) Personnel of the Border Police Force have detained two drug smugglers and discovered seven kg of heroin from their possessions at Kabul International Airport, the state-run Radio and Television of Afghanistan (RTA) reported.
"The Border Police personnel arrested two drug smugglers and recovered seven kg of heroin from their bags at Kabul airport," RTA quoted the Border Police Force spokesman Abidullah Farooqi on Monday night as saying.
The alleged smugglers were attempting to traffic the contraband outside Afghanistan, the official said.
Without identifying the nationalities of the alleged smugglers, the state-owned media outlet citing the official reported that the police at Kabul international airport have arrested 56 drug traffickers, including some foreigners, and discovered more than seven tons of drugs in their possession over the past couple of years.
