All taluka-level department heads coordinate with Gram Panchayat, Sarpanch: Maha minister

Nagpur, Mar 15 (UNI) Maharashtra and District Guardian Minister Chandrasekhar Bawankule on Saturday directed that every head of concerned department at the taluka level should coordinate directly with the sarpanchs for effective implementation of various schemes ranging from agriculture to animal husbandry, education to health.
He was speaking at a special review meeting of Sarpanchs held at Mauda.
He said that many public welfare schemes of the government have been designed with a view for development of the individual.
He said that the Maharashtra government has prepared a special action plan to develop basic literacy,
numeracy and skills among students and this should be implemented in every primary school in rural areas.
In that sense, unless the Education Extension Officers in the Panchayat Samiti coordinate with the primary schools, the fact will not be noticed, said Bawankule.
Similarly, the Taluka Health Officer should visit and inspect the concerned primary and sub-primary health centres in the taluka.
Every sarpanch should be committed to eradication of epidemic diseases, leprosy, elephantiasis in coordination with each other.
He said there are many infrastructure development schemes under Social Justice Department, Animal
Husbandry Department, Agriculture Department.
There will be no changes in the facilities available to the people until the officials go to the village level and review it, he added.
