AP: Dental doctors distribute mind game playing kits to Autistic kids in Kakinada

Kakinada, June 18 (UNI) The dental doctors of the Kakinada branch Indian Dental Association distributed mind game playing kits to the autistic kids here today to mark the World Autistic pride day.

Dr Addala Satyanarayana, secretary of the Indian dental association Kakinada branch, while distributing the kits said that "Autistic Pride Day is a global celebration that throws light on the strengths, achievements and unique perspectives of people with autism spectrum disorder.
"This important awareness day highlights the value of autistic individuals as integral members of the society, encouraging acceptance, understanding and empowerment. Every year, communities, organizations and individuals come together to promote inclusivity and challenge misconceptions about autism," he added.

The secretary further said that Autistic Pride Day was dedicated to recognising and celebrating the diversity and contributions of autistic people.

It emphasises the idea that autism is a difference but not a deficit and that neuro diversity enriches our world.
On this day autistic individuals and their allies advocate for acceptance rather than just awareness, aiming to foster environments where everyone feels valued for who they are, he added.

Dr Srivalli, Dr Yerusha, Dr Tejeswera Rao and staff and children of Autism school were among those who attended.
