Army Chief to review combined graduation parade on June 14

Hyderabad, June 9 (UNI) The prestigious Combined Graduation Parade (CGP) of the 215th Course at the Air Force Academy (AFA), Dundigal, will be held on June 14, marking the culmination of rigorous pre-commissioning training for flight cadets across various branches of the Indian Air Force (IAF).

General Upendra Dwivedi, Chief of the Army Staff (COAS), will be the Reviewing Officer (RO) for the ceremony. He will confer the ‘President’s Commission’ on the graduating cadets and present ‘Wings’ to flight cadets of the IAF, officers of the Indian Navy, Indian Coast Guard, and one officer from a friendly foreign nation.
The flight cadet from the Flying Branch who secures the first position in the order of merit will receive the coveted ‘President’s Plaque’ and the ‘Chief of the Air Staff Sword of Honour’, and will also command the parade. The President’s Plaque for the top cadet in Ground Duty branches will also be awarded during the event.

The CGP will feature impressive displays including performances by the Akash Ganga Skydiving Team, the Air Warrior Drill Team (AWDT), and fly-pasts by aircraft such as the Pilatus PC-7 Mk-II, Hawk, Kiran, and Chetak. Aerobatic demonstrations by the SU-30 MK-I, PC-7 Mk-II, and the Surya Kiran Aerobatic Team (SKAT) will be among the major highlights, showcasing the IAF’s aerial prowess and training excellence, a defence statement said on Monday.

Chennai, June 9 (UNI) Filing of nominations for the June 19 biennial elections to the Rajya Sabha from the Tamil Nadu Assembly ended on Monday and all the six official candidates--three from the ruling DMK, one from its ally, the MNM of actor-politician Kamal Haasan and two from the principal Opposition AIADMK--are set to be elected unopposed on June 12 after the last date for withdrawals, though 13 candidates have filed entered the fray.
