Arunachal Cabinet expands welfare schemes, approves SGST reimbursement for Kalai II HEP

Itanagar, Apr 2 (UNI) The Arunachal Pradesh Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Pema Khandu, on Wednesday took several key decisions aimed at enhancing social welfare and boosting economic growth.
Among the major approvals were the expansion of the Chief Minister’s Bal Seva Scheme (CMBSS), enhancement of pensions under the Chief Minister’s Social Security Scheme (CMSSS), and a 50% SGST (State Goods and Services Tax) reimbursement for the 1200MW Kalai II Hydro Electric Project (HEP).
CMBSS: The Chief Minister’s Bal Seva Scheme (CMBSS), which previously catered only to COVID orphans, has now been extended to cover all registered orphaned children of the state. Beneficiaries registered under the Baal Swaraj Portal, those residing in Child Care Institutions, and those recognized as ‘Children in Need of Care and Protection’ under the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2015 will now receive financial assistance.
