Arunachal: Young woman held with suspected heroin in Ziro

Itanagar, May 14 (UNI) In a swift operation, the Lower Subansiri district police has arrested a 22-year-old woman for allegedly peddling suspected heroin in Ziro-Hapoli area of Arunachal Pradesh, the district Superintendent of Police Keni Bagra said on Wednesday.
He said that acting on credible information received on Monday, a police team led by Inspector M Lalyang, along with SI J Yomcha, ASI C Talo, and lady head constable (SG) Nido Yarin, conducted a raid at a rental apartment near Treasury Down, where the alleged accused, Khyoda Otty, was residing. The operation was carried out under the supervision of the SP.
During the search, he said, police recovered two plastic vials containing a total of 2.7 grams of suspected heroin, along with 14 empty vials and two 1 1ml insulin syringes. The seizure was made following all legal formalities in the presence of an Executive Magistrate and independent witnesses.
A case has been registered under relevant sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985, and further investigation is underway, SP Bagra said.
