Bangkok/Dhaka, Apr 4 (UNI) Bangladesh Chief Advisor Mohammed Yunus has said that holding elections in the country is currently the top priority of his government.
Speaking at the BIMSTEC Summit in Bangkok, Thailand, today, Yunus highlighted certain aspects of the July 2024 uprising which saw the ouster of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
He said: "I have assured our people that, once our mandate is fulfilled in the conduct of elections as well as the required reform is done, we shall hold a free, fair and participatory election," he said, as per the Business Standard Bangladesh.
