Dhaka, Apr 8 (UNI) Bangladesh Cricket Board on Tuesday recalled veteran wicketkeeper-batsman Mushfiqur Rahim for the upcoming two-Test series against Zimbabwe, marking his return to the red-ball format after missing the home series against the West Indies.
The 36-year-old, who last played a Test in January, brings a wealth of experience to the side, having amassed 6,007 runs in 94 matches at an average of 37.8, including 11 centuries. His inclusion is part of a 15-member squad announced by BCB for the first Test, which begins in Sylhet on April 20.
Najmul Hossain Shanto, who also missed the West Indies series, resumes full-time Test captaincy duties. The squad also features young pacer Tanzim Hasan Sakib, who receives his maiden call-up to the Test side after making appearances in limited-overs formats.
