Dhaka/New Delhi, Feb 6 (UNI) Bangladesh’s army backed-interim government on Thursday lodged a strong protest against the “false and fabricated statements” made by deposed prime minister Sheikh Hasina, who is sheltered in India.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs handed over a protest note to the Acting High Commissioner of India Pawan Badhe, who was summoned to the ministry a day after Hasina’s audio statement was aired on social media, newagebd reported.
“Through the protest note, handed over to the Acting High Commissioner of India in Dhaka, the Ministry conveyed the deep concern, disappointment and serious reservation of the Government of Bangladesh, as such statements are hurting the sentiments of the people in Bangladesh,” said a press release issued by the ministry.
