Kolkata, April 18 (UNI) BJP's Dilip Ghosh, who led his saffron brigade to win 18 Lok Sabha seats in 2019 general election in West Bengal, is all set to tie the nuptial knot with party colleague Rinku Majumdar at a simple ceremony at New Town on Friday evening.
His successor and current state BJP president Sukanta Majumdar congratulated him on behalf of the party and sent best wishes.
Majumdar, a Union minister and MP from Balurghat, also called Ghosh, led a host of party leaders and followers at his eastern Kolkata residence early today.
The wedding is scheduled for this evening. The duo met in 2021 and their relationship grew during morning walks. Ghosh, now 60, said his mother wanted him to marry. Rinku is a social worker and active BJP Mahila Morcha leader.
BJP’s general secretary (Organization) Amitabha Chakraborty, Bengal central observer & state in-charge Mangal Pandey and another in-charge & national general secretary Sunil Bansal, former MP Locket Chatterjee among others, met Ghosh and his mother at his residence.
Majumdar said, “It is Ghosh’s personal affair. We have all come here to congratulate him for a prosperous future.” Ghosh, who has served the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh at various levels, led the BJP to win 18 Lok Sabha seats in 2019 Lok Sabha election.
Rinku Majumdar in an interview on Friday said she would support Ghosh's family as well as his pursuit in politics.
