BIMSTEC Ministers sign agreement on Maritime Transport Cooperation

Bangkok, Apr 4 (UNI) The 20th Session of the BIMSTEC Ministerial Meeting (MM), attended by Indian External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, in Bangkok, Thailand, saw the Ministers signing the BIMSTEC Agreement on Maritime Transport Cooperation, marking a significant step toward strengthening regional maritime partnerships.
The meeting also finalised the draft Declaration of the 6th BIMSTEC Summit, outlining vision, decisions and directives of the Leaders, that was adopted at the Summit today.
The ministerial meeting of the Bay of Bengal Initiative for MultiSectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation (BIMSTEC) was held to review progress, finalize key agreements and outline the future course of regional cooperation, a statement said.
