BJP credits Amit Shah for resolving key Mizo issues

Aizawl, Mar 28 (UNI) The BJP Mizoram unit has praised Union Home Minister Amit Shah for addressing long-standing issues affecting the state, including the resettlement of Bru refugees and the relocation of Assam Rifles from Aizawl.
BJP Mizoram President Vanlalhmuaka, while addressing the Friday political session at the BJP Aizawl office on Friday, said the Bru repatriation issue, which remained unresolved for over 23 years, was successfully settled in 2019 under Shah’s leadership. "No previous government could resolve this, but Amit Shah brought a lasting solution," he stated.
He also highlighted the fulfilment of the long-standing demand to relocate Assam Rifles from Aizawl to Zokhawsang. "On April 1, 2023, Amit Shah inaugurated the new Assam Rifles Headquarters at Zokhawsang, and on March 15, 2025, the vacated land in Aizawl was officially handed over to the Mizoram government," he said.
