Builders key partners in Telangana’s progress: Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy

Hyderabad, Apr 13 (UNI) Telangana Irrigation and Civil Supplies Minister Capt. N Uttam Kumar Reddy affirmed the crucial role of builders in the state’s development, assuring them of the government’s full support.

Addressing the first Annual General Body Meeting of the Cyberabad Builders Association (CBA) at HICC, Madhapur on Sunday, the Minister described builders as key partners in the growth story of Telangana.

Reddy acknowledged concerns about a recent slowdown in the construction sector, particularly in Hyderabad, as reported in the media. However, he assured stakeholders that the Congress-led state government is firmly committed to reviving momentum in the building and infrastructure sectors.

“The Government of Telangana stands with the builders. We are ready to proactively intervene and resolve any issues you face with government departments or agencies. Our aim is to ensure a smooth business environment and year-on-year growth for the construction industry,” he stated.

Highlighting major developmental initiatives, the Minister said that plans are underway to expand the city’s drinking water infrastructure by drawing more resources from the Krishna and Godavari rivers. He also emphasised the government’s focus on tackling Hyderabad’s growing traffic challenges through rapid expansion of the existing metro rail network.

Reddy noted that global tech giants like Amazon and Google are either establishing new facilities or expanding their presence in Hyderabad and Cyberabad, signaling strong investor confidence.

“Cyberabad is on the path to becoming the Silicon Valley of India. Wherever our Chief Minister and other ministers have travelled globally, the interest in investing in Hyderabad has been overwhelming,” he said.

The Minister also highlighted key state initiatives such as the establishment of the unique Young India Skill University, the upcoming ‘Future City’ aimed at attracting international investment, and the rejuvenation of the Musi River to transform Hyderabad into a global urban hub.

“Our doors are always open to resolve your concerns. We assure you of global-standard infrastructure, a robust law and order system, and a business-friendly environment,” Reddy said, adding that the government is committed to making Hyderabad and Cyberabad leading global investment destinations.

He wished the CBA members success in their ongoing and upcoming projects, reaffirming, “Our government sees you not just as stakeholders but as partners in progress. Together, we will take Hyderabad and Cyberabad to new heights.”
Cyberabad Builders Association President U Uday Shekar said the formation of the association marks a new chapter for the construction and real estate industry in one of the country’s fastest-growing urban corridors. “This is not just a movement; it’s a celebration of our collective vision and future,” he said, adding that the association aims to bring together developers, engineers, architects, and professionals under one platform to collaborate and drive sustainable growth in the Cyberabad region.

He highlighted the association’s achievements, including a transparent structure, growing membership, and initiatives for skill development, green construction practices, and policy advocacy. The focus, he noted, is on promoting affordable housing, adopting innovative technologies, and engaging in socially responsible development.

Former NAREDCO President B Sunil Chandra Reddy praised the Telangana government for key initiatives like the Regional Ring Road, metro rail expansion, and the Musi River rejuvenation project. He appreciated the vision for a Master Plan 2050 and Hyderabad’s consistent ranking as one of the most livable cities globally.

Reddy urged the government to provide relief to the real estate sector by reducing stamp duties and administrative charges, addressing property tax concerns, and streamlining clearances. He emphasized that with timely government support, the industry is poised for a strong revival.
