Chirgaon Champs strike gold in Thailand

Shimla, Apr 16 (UNI) Two young athletes from Chirgaon, Shimla—Dikshita Shilal and Sanika Laltwan—have brought immense pride to their district, state, and the country by winning medals at the First Thailand Kickboxing World Cup held in Bangkok from April 7 to 12, 2025.
Dikshita won a silver medal, while Sanika secured a bronze in the -56 kg Full Contact category.
Deputy Commissioner Anupam Kashyap congratulated and felicitated both players, praising them for their outstanding achievements. He emphasized that their success not only uplifts the region but also sets an example for other young people to pursue sports and stay away from negative influences like drugs. The administration plans to involve both athletes in its anti-drug campaign to inspire youth through their journey.
