CIAL launches Next-Generation Firefighting Equipment

Kochi, Jun 17 (UNI) Cochin International Airport Limited (CIAL) has taken a significant step toward strengthening its emergency response infrastructure with the launch of next-gen firefighting equipment under its Airport Rescue and Fire Fighting (ARFF) department today.
The event was inaugurated by P. Rajeeve, Minister for Law and Industries, Government of Kerala, and Director, CIAL. The ceremony featured the official switch-on and demonstration of two key additions Articulated Boomlift and Multipurpose Firefighting Robot.
Articulated Boom Lift – A hydraulically operated, multi-jointed aerial platform designed for high-elevation rescue and access operations. The equipment can cover a maximum height of 28 metres and has a load capacity up to 250 kgs.
Multipurpose Firefighting Robot – A robust, remote-controlled unit designed to operate in extreme fire conditions while ensuring personnel safety. Equipped with an inbuilt camera and 360-degree operational capability, it enables efficient navigation and real-time monitoring in hazardous environments.
