Mumbai, Apr 3 (UNI) The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) coalition government in Maharashtra is cheating the people of the state, said state Pradesh Congress Committee Chief Spokesperson Atul Londhe.
He said: "The government said they will give Rs 2,100 to beloved sisters. The government is not even ready to waive off farmers' loans, and the announcement by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis that electricity bills will be cheaper from April 1, has also turned out to be a lie. The common man will have to bear the shock of electricity bills," said Londhe.
Atul Londhe said that in the electricity sector, there are three companies of the Maharashtra government, Mahanimirti, Mahapareshan and Mahavitaran. The owners of all these three companies are the state government. The proposal regarding the electricity bill goes to the Electricity Regulatory Commission and the Electricity Regulatory Commission decides whether to increase or decrease the electricity bill.
Londhe said that Chief Minister Fadnavis had promised on March 28 that the electricity bill would be reduced by 10 percent in the next five years from April 1, 2025. And on March 28, the Electricity Regulatory Commission also announced that the electricity bill would be reduced by 10 percent from April 1.
However, the government company Mahavitaran objected to this and said that the electricity company has a burden of more than Rs 90,000 crore, and if the electricity bill is reduced, the company may go into losses. "Then the question arises that while Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis announced to make electricity cheaper, did he not know about his department? Why did the commission itself announce to reduce the electricity bill by 10 percent? " Londhe asked.
In the assembly elections, Fadnavis had promised to waive off loans to farmers, to give "dear sisters" Rs 1,500 to Rs 2,100, and to fill 2.5 lakh government vacancies. "But after coming to power, the language of the three brothers in power has changed," he said.
