Congress slams Nitish government for lathicharge on teacher assistants in Bihar

Patna, May 6 (UNI) Congress on Tuesday slammed Nitish Kumar government for the lathicharge on teacher assistants in Bihar, saying it had exposed the fact that government had nothing to do with future of younger generations.
President of Bihar Pradesh Congress Committee (BPCC) Rajesh Ram said here that teacher aspirants were proceeding towards CM residence to meet Nitish Kumar to submit a memorandum to him regarding their demands. They were mercilessly lathicharged causing injuries to some of them, he added.
"Against advertisement issued by Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) for recruitment of teachers against 87,774 vacant posts, results were declared for only 66,000 candidates", Ram said adding that the demand of teacher aspirants was justified for publishing results for remaining vacant posts.
Those policemen and officials responsible for lathicharge on teacher aspirants should be slapped with stringent punishment by the government , he added.
"Autocratic style of functioning of Nitish Kumar government would never be tolerated by people of Bihar ", the Congress leader stressed and added that the government would have to face serious consequences in 2025 Bihar Assembly election scheduled to be held in October- November this year.
A government proclaiming itself to protect the interest of all sections of the society, was engaged in lathicharge on youths of the state, he lamented.
