Couple killed in road accident

Nashik, May 17 (UNI) A couple was killed on Friday when a speeding truck hit a two-wheeler from behind. The accident took place near Chinchwad Phata near Lakhmapur in Satana taluka on the Malegaon-Satana road.
According to Satana police, the deceased were identified as Nitin Bhanudas Ahire (38) and his wife Kavita Nitin Ahire (32). Ahire belonged to Kukane in the taluka. He was on his way to a relative's wedding on his two-wheeler with his wife.
When they slowed down near the speed bump at Chandwad Phata, a truck coming from behind hit their two-wheeler.
The Ahire couple was seriously injured in the collision. Nitin died on the spot while Kavita Ahire died during treatment in a Malegaon hospital.
A case has been registered at Satana police station against the truck driver who fled the scene.
