Court sentences man to 20 years rigorous imprisonment for sexual torture of minor

Nashik, Apr 3 (UNI) The District and Sessions court in Nashik has sentenced a 20-year-old man to 20 years' rigorous imprisonment for unnatural sexual torture of a minor boy in the Dhatrak Phata area of Adgaon locality in Nashik.
A fine of Rs 50,000 has also been imposed on the man.
The District and Sessions Court has also ordered that Rs 25,000 be paid to the victim out of this fine.
The sentenced man, Rohit Sanjay Pawar, 20, is resident of Behind Nishant Garden, Dhatrak Phata, Panchvati. The incident took place on April 27, 2023 between 6 and 8:30 pm.
The accused Pawar made the victim, an eight-year-old boy, sit on his two-wheeler and took him to his house and forcibly subjected him to unnatural sexual torture. He threatened the boy that if he told anyone about this incident, he would kill him.
A case of unnatural torture including POCSO was registered by the Adgaon police in this case.
The investigation was conducted by the then Inspector Irfan Sheikh and a chargesheet was filed.
