Crew Dragon with Russian cosmonaut Kirill Peskov docks with ISS

Moscow, Mar 16 (UNI) The Crew Dragon spacecraft with Russian cosmonaut Kirill Peskov on board docked with the International Space Station (ISS), according to a broadcast on the SpaceX page on X.
Earlier, Roscosmos said Telegram channel that the launch of the Crew Dragon spacecraft with Russia's Kirill Peskov on board into the designated orbit was going in normal mode.
The spacecraft docked with the ISS at 4:04 GMT.
On Saturday, the Crew Dragon spacecraft was launched to the ISS, it will also return the astronauts stuck on the station for 9 months. In addition to Peskov, the crew includes NASA astronauts Anne McClain and Nichole Ayers, as well as JAXA astronaut Takuya Onishi.
Starliner, built by Boeing under contract to NASA, launched on its first manned flight with NASA astronauts Barry Wilmore and Sunita Williams on June 5, 2024. The test mission was planned to last about a week, but due to problems in the spacecraft's engine discovered during docking with the station and a subsequent helium leak, the test was delayed. Experts were unable to eliminate the identified problems and it was decided that Starliner would return to Earth without a crew.
US President Donald Trump previously blamed his predecessor Joe Biden for the incident, since the return of the astronauts was repeatedly postponed. Trump said he personally asked SpaceX CEO Elon Musk to help the Starliner crew, which had been stuck in orbit for months. Musk claimed the Biden administration had rejected his offer to return the astronauts last fall. Crew 10 was announced to fly to the ISS in March last December. The stranded astronauts will return along with the Crew 9 crew, which arrived at the ISS in late September, after the Starliner spacecraft left the station a month earlier, but without a crew.
