cult UNBOUND sees 50K reps, 1,400 km covered in Bengaluru

Bengaluru, Apr 13 (UNI) In a powerful display of grit, stamina and collective spirit, over 5,000 athletes at the inaugural cult UNBOUND championship in Bengaluru completed more than 50,000 workout repetitions, moved in excess of 10,000 kilograms of equipment, and clocked nearly 1,400 kilometres of running and rowing—an achievement that organisers say marks a new chapter in India’s rapidly expanding fitness movement.
The event transformed the convention centre into a buzzing arena of physical excellence and inclusivity, drawing participants from diverse age groups, fitness levels and regions of the country. With eight functional workout zones set up across the venue, the championship tested participants' strength, endurance, and teamwork through carefully designed challenges.
“This was not just about competition; it was about proving to yourself that you can go further when you’re surrounded by a community that believes in collective progress,” said *Naresh Krishnaswamy, CEO, Curefit Healthcare Pvt. Ltd.*, which organised the event.
Athletes took on high-intensity challenges involving pulling sleds, lifting weights, performing synchronised reps, and rowing in teams.
Adding to the momentum was the Leaders Circuit, which brought together CXOs and senior executives from major Indian corporations. They took on a customised version of the challenge that upheld the spirit of resilience while promoting wellness in India’s boardrooms. “Our leaders sweating it out on the floor with others sends a clear message—fitness is not optional, it’s fundamental,” said Santhosh Kumar, CTPO, cult.
The championship also featured a host of engaging side-events aimed at building community through movement—ranging from yoga and dance fitness to capoeira, poi spinning, and hula hooping. These sessions, open to both participants and spectators, reinforced cult’s philosophy of making functional fitness fun, accessible, and socially engaging.
Prizes worth Rs 10 lakh, including a Rs 6 lakh cash prize pool, were awarded to top performers. Among the standouts were Tiruvan, Imliyanger, and Rajathsomanna in the Men’s Singles category, and Yashaswini, Roshika, and Sugandha in the Women’s Singles category. Winners were felicitated with trophies and leaderboard placements in the presence of celebrity guests and fitness influencers.
But beyond the awards and applause, it was the raw data—50,000 repetitions, 10,000 kg moved, and 1,400 km covered—that captured the essence of cult UNBOUND.
“These numbers are not just statistics,” Krishnaswamy added. “They’re symbols of a nationwide shift. We’re seeing a generation that values fitness not just for aesthetics or performance, but as a lifestyle anchored in purpose, resilience and community.”
With its debut edition setting such a high watermark, cult UNBOUND has established itself as more than a fitness event—it has become a mirror to the evolving culture of health and wellness in India.
