Day temperatures above normal at isolated places over Gangetic West Bengal

Pune, Mar 17(UNI) Day temperatures were markedly above normal (5.1°C or more) at isolated places over Gangetic West Bengal, Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh; at a few places over east Uttar Pradesh; appreciably above normal (3.1°C to 5.0°C) at most places over Vidarbha; at a few places over Telangana; at isolated places over west Uttar Pradesh, Odisha and Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura.
The temperatures were above normal (1.6°C to 3.0°C) at many places over Saurashtra and Kutch;
at a few places Delhi, Madhya Pradesh, Madhya Maharashtra and Rayalaseema; at isolated places over Punjab, Gujarat Region, Konkan and Goa, Marathwada, Telangana and north interior Karnataka.
These were markedly below normal (-5.1°C or less) at most places over Jammu-Kashmir and Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan, Muzaffarabad; at a few places over Bihar; at isolated places over Assam and Meghalaya and near normal over rest parts of the country.
On Sunday, Heat wave to severe heat wave conditions were realised in Jharkhand and Odisha and heat wave conditions were realised in Vidarbha.
On Sunday, the highest maximum temperature of 43.6°C was reported at Boudh (Odisha) over the country.

Night temperatures were markedly above normal (5.1°C or more) at isolated places over Bihar; appreciably above normal (3.1°C to 5.0°C) at a few places over Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura and Jharkhand; at isolated places over Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Madhya Maharashtra, Gangetic West Bengal and Assam and Meghalaya; above normal (1.6°C to 3.0°C) at many places over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal and Andaman and Nicobar Islands; at a few places over east Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat state and Kerala and Mahe; at isolated places over Arunachal Pradesh, Rayalaseema, south interior Karnataka, Marathwada and Vidarbha. '
These were appreciably below normal (-5.0°C to -3.1°C) at isolated places over west Rajasthan and Himachal Pradesh; below normal (- 3.0°C to -1.6°C) at a few places over Jammu-Kashmir and Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan, Muzaffarabad; at isolated places over Punjab, Haryana, Uttarakhand, east
Rajasthan, Telangana and near normal over rest parts of the country.
On Monday, the lowest minimum temperature of 9.8°C is reported at Adampur (Punjab) over the plains of the country.

Rain or thundershowers have occurred at many places in Arunachal Pradesh and at a few in Assam and Meghalaya, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Kerala and Lakshadweep and at isolated places in Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, West Bengal and Sikkim, Odisha, Jharkhand, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Jammu-Kashmir and Ladakh, west Rajasthan, east Rajasthan, Jammu-Kashmir and Ladakh, east Madhya Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and south interior Karnataka.
Mainly dry weather has prevailed in Haryana, Punjab, west Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat State, Konkan and Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Rayalseema, coastal and north interior Karnataka and Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
Following observations for the past 24 hrs were recorded at 0830 hrs on Monday.
