New Delhi, Apr 3 (UNI) A court here on Thursday dismissed a defamation case filed against former Delhi chief minister Atishi Marlena and AAP MP Sanjay Singh.
After hearing arguments of both sides, Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate (ACJM) Paras Dalal said, "Since no prima facie offence has been made out from the complaint of facts, this court declines to take cognizance of the offence. File consigned to record room after due compliance."
The complainant, Congress leader Sandeep Dikshit had filed a complaint under Section 223 BNSS for offence alleged under Section 356 read with 3(5) of BNS against the accused in the court.
In the complaint, Sandeep Dikshit alleged that the two accused have made defamatory allegation during their press conference on December 26, 2024. These accused persons alleged that the complainant had colluded with the opposition political party to receive crores of rupees and further had his election campaign for Delhi Assembly election 2023 funded by the opposition political party.
The complainant further alleged that following publication of the statements of these accused persons in media, his image has been tarnished and defamed.
