Eleven militants nabbed in Manipur

Imphal, Apr 16 (UNI) Manipur Police and security personnel apprehended eleven militants in four separate incidents during the past 24 hours.

Police said on Wednesday that security forces arrested four miitants from Salungpham Mamang Leikai near Bazar under Heirok-PS of Thoubal District.

The arrested were involved in extortion of money from the general public of Thoubal District.

A pistol and a hand grenade were recovered.

In another incident Manipur Police arrested three militants from Waithou Chiru, Imphal East District.

Manipur Police also arrested a militant from Kombirei Housing Complex under Lamphel-PS of Imphal West district.

He was involved in extortion activities by serving monetary demands/threats to the general public in and around Imphal area.

Central forces arrested three militants from Border Pillar 81 Sub Pillar 3 under Moreh-PS of Tengnoupal District.
