Former national legislator arrested for bribery

Beijing, Mar 20 (UNI) Du Yubo, a former national legislator, has been arrested on suspicion of bribery, the Supreme People's Procuratorate (SPP) said in a statement on Thursday.
Du was vice chairman of the Education, Science, Culture and Public Health Committee of the 13th National People's Congress.
The case was handed over to prosecutors for examination and prosecution following the conclusion of an investigation by the National Commission of Supervision, the SPP said.
Du, also a former vice minister of education, was placed under investigation in September 2024.
