Former shooter Letcheva elected president of Bulgarian Olympic Committee

Sofia, Mar 20 (UNI) Former shooter Vessela Letcheva was elected president of the Bulgarian Olympic Committee (BOC).
Letcheva received 48 votes, defeating incumbent BOC president Stefka Kostadinova, who had 33 votes, at its meeting here on Wednesday.
Immediately after her election, Letcheva said that the BOC needs change and a new beginning. Letcheva, 60, is a two-time Olympic silver medalist and five-time world champion.
She also won the World Cup Finals four times, and according to the statistics of the International Shooting Sports Federation, she has won the most titles in the women's rifle in World Cup tournaments with 31.
Letcheva was also a member of the Bulgarian parliament, and caretaker Minister of Youth and Sports.
