Friday prayer offered peacefully in UP amid tight security

Lucknow, Apr 4 (UNI) Amid apprehension over law and order situation after the passage of Waqf Amendment Bill in the Parliament, the Friday namaz passed off peacefully with tight security arrangements across Uttar Pradesh, police sources said here.
Police sources said that in the state capital, Lucknow, the Friday prayer was offered peacefully in all the important mosques amid tight security arrangements. "An alert was sounded across the state due to which heavy force was deployed across the city," they said.
Police sources said that a strict vigil was maintained with the help of drones and CCTVs. "Besides. strict monitoring of social media was done to check rumour mongering and activities of the anti-social elements," they said.
