Georgia court gives Saakashvili 4.5 yrs in prison for illegal border crossing - Reports

Tbilisi, Mar 17 (UNI) The Tbilisi City Court has sentenced former Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili to another 4.5 years in prison for illegal border crossing, TV Pirveli reported on Monday.
After the new verdict, Saakashvili's prison term has been extended until 2034.
Last week, Georgia's Mtavari Arkhi broadcaster reported that the Tbilisi City Court had sentenced Saakashvili to nine years in prison for embezzlement of state funds. On Friday, judge Mikhail Djindjolia said that the court will issue a verdict to Saakashvili in the case of illegal border crossing on March 17.
