Grand celebrations mark Sri Rama Navami at Bhadrachalam temple in Telangana

Hyderabad, Apr 6 (UNI) Sri Rama Navami, commemorating the birth of Lord Rama, was celebrated with great religious fervour at the historic 17th-century Sri Seetha Ramachandra Swamy Temple in Bhadrachalam, Bhadradri Kothagudem district, on Sunday.
On this auspicious occasion, the celestial wedding (Sitarama Kalyanam) was performed, celebrating the divine union of Lord Rama, an incarnation of Lord Vishnu, and Goddess Sita. The day began with early morning rituals such as Thiruvaradhana, Mangala Sasanam, and Abhishekam in the main temple.
At 1000 hours, the festival deities were taken in a grand procession from the temple to the beautifully decorated Kalyana Mandapam at Mithila Stadium amid the chanting of Vedic hymns. Priests then performed Thiruvaradhana, Vishwaksena Puja, and other ceremonial rituals.
The celestial wedding ceremony was conducted during the Abhijit Lagna at 1200 hours, followed by the vibrant Talambralu event. The wedding, which lasted from 1000 hours to 1230 hours, was witnessed by thousands of devotees at the stadium and lakhs more via live television broadcasts across the country.
Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, along with his wife, offered silk clothes and Mutyala Talambralu to the deities on behalf of the state government—a tradition upheld since the time of Bhakta Ramadasu.
Tirumala-Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) Chairman B R Naidu also presented silk clothes on behalf of TTD.
Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu, Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy couple, Endowment Minister Konda Sureakha couple, Chief Secretary Shanthi Kumari and others were present on the occasion.
The Bhadrachalam temple was beautifully decorated for the occasion, and elaborate security arrangements were in place to ensure the smooth conduct of the festivities.
