Srinagar, May 13 (UNI) Gunshots were heard on Tuesday during an anti militancy operation in a forest area of Shopian district of Jammu and Kashmir, officials said.
They said a cordon and a search operation was launched by the joint forces in Shukru Kellar following an input about militant presence.
“As the combing was underway, some gunshots were heard,” they said, adding a tight cordon was maintained in the area.
The combing operation is still underway .
Meanwhile, posters featuring the three terrorists involved in the April 22 Pahalgam attack on tourists have been pasted in several districts of south Kashmir. The posters announce a reward for anyone who provides information leading to their arrest. The attackers remain at large.
