Haryana: Heroin worth Rs 25 cr seized in Sirsa

Sirsa, Mar 21 (UNI) Police on Friday seized 4 kg of heroin valued at Rs 25 crore in the Sirsa district of Haryana.
SP Vikrant Bhushan said that two accused, identified as Abhishek of Sirsa and Pradeep of Bathinda in Punjab, have been arrested also.
He stated that the CIA Elanabad police team, led by PSI Jagdish Chandra, intercepted a car during a patrol in the Chatargarh Patti area. The accused attempted to flee, but police apprehended them and retrieved the contraband from their car.
Bhushan said that during initial interrogation, the accused said that they procured heroin from Punjab, and it was to be supplied in and around Sirsa.
SP said that a Pakistani currency note has also been found with the contraband, and so it was not ruling out the possibility of a Pakistan link.
He said that police were ascertaining whether the accused have any past criminal record.
"Police will produce the accused in the court and seek remand for further investigation," he said.
