Holding IYD event in presence of PM Modi is a proud moment for Andhra: Union Minister

Bhimavaram, June 19 (UNI) Union Minister of State for Steel and Heavy Industries Bhupathiraju Srinivasa Varma has said that organising the International Yoga Day event on June 21 in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi is a proud moment for Andhra Pradesh and called upon all to make Yoga a part of life.

A Yoga event with over 6,000 people was organised on the DNR College ground here today in which Union Minister Srinivasa Varma, Deputy Speaker of the Legislative Assembly K Raghu Ramakrishna Raju and Collector Chadalavada Nagarani participated and practised Yoga.
Sports groups and youth groups also practised Yoga in the event.

Speaking on the occasion, Union Minister Srinivasa Varma said that India has introduced Yoga to the world and Yoga is being practiced in 180 countries now and every Indian should feel proud of it. Practising Yoga every day relieves stress, provides mental peace and physical firmness.

“Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu is organising a mega Yoga event in Visakhapatnam on June 21 in which Prime Minister Narendra Modi will participate. This event is being organised to mark the 11th International Yoga Day,” Union Minister Srinivasa Varma highlighted.

Srinivasa Varma congratulated West Godavari district Collector Chadalavada Nagrani for organising Yoga events from village level to the district level during the last one month.

Deputy Speaker Raghu Ramakrishna Raju mentioned that Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu is striving hard to develop Andhra Pradesh as a role model state. The Chief Minister is making all efforts to create a world record by organising the biggest Yoga event in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on June 21 with over five lakh people participating in Yoga.

MLA Pulaparthi Ramanjaneyulu, MLA Pitani Satyanarayana and State Kapu Corporation chairman Kottapallai Subba Rayudu also spoke. SP Adnan Nayeem, Joint Collector T Rahul Kumar Reddy, Additional SP V Bhima Rao and DRO M Venkateswarlu were among those who took part in the programme.

AP: Free bus services by APSRTC for devotees within Tirumala

Tirumala, June 16 (UNI) Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) Additional Executive officer Ch Venkaiah Chowdary on Thursday informed that state-owned APSRTC buses have been made available to ply within Tirumala transporting devotees free of cost.
Talking to reporters after flagging off the free RTC bus trips at Ashwini Hospital Circle in Tirumala, Chowdary said to prevent the high fares charged by private vehicles from devotees and to control pollution in Tirumala, TTD asked APSRTC to operate buses.
The RTC officials responded positively and came forward to operate buses.
