HP: Blackout to be imposed in Baddi, Nalagarh & Parwanoo

Solan, May 10 (UNI) In view of the current sensitive situation and security on the Indo-Pak border, district magistrate Manmohan Sharma on Saturday ordered imposition of complete blackout during night
hours within the jurisdiction of Baddi, Nalagarh tehsils-industrial belt-and Municipal Council
Parwanoo of the distrct.
The orders enforced with immediate effect will continue until further orders.
The blackout will be enforced from 8 pm to 5 am. All residents of these areas will have to
switch off all the lights of their houses at 8 pm every day.
All commercial establishments including shops, hotels and restaurants will ensure closer by 8 pm every day in these areas, till further orders.
Sharma said that all institutions and work places, including government and private buildings, ATMs, sports complexes, hostels, restaurants, religious places, shops and commercial complexes, parks, advertisement boards, liquor shops, washing plants, mining sites will have to be closed at 8 pm every day.
Bus stands, railway stations, bridges and street lighting systems under the jurisdiction of local bodies
will also remain closed during the blackout period.
The orders clarified that with the sound of the emergency siren, all types of internal lighting will have
to be switched off immediately so that a complete blackout can be enforced.
All industrial units operating in the above notified areas will ensure suspension of their night shifts with immediate effect. Industrial units producing essential goods will ensure that no light of any kind is visible from their premises. For this, these units will have to completely cover all windows etc.
All the Gram Panchayats, Nagar Panchayats, Municipal Councils and Municipal Corporations of the above mentioned areas will strictly implement the measures taken in view of national and public safety and ensure that street lights, etc., remain completely switched off during the blackout period.
The orders said that solar powered and self-operated lighting systems which cannot be switched off manually should either be disconnected or completely covered.
All residents, commercial institutions and industries have been urged to fully comply with these orders.
