HP Govt can't stop eviction proceeding against the encroachers without court orders

Shimla, Mar 26 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh government has requested the Centre to amend the Forest Conservation Act (FCA) to allow state-owned land to be allotted to families affected by natural disasters, a minister told the Assembly on Wednesday.
Replying to a member during the Zero Hour, Revenue Minister Jagat Singh Negi said the government was incapable of providing relief to people occupying state-owned land who were being affected by recent high court orders, despite their ancestors having used the government land for their livelihood.
While acknowledging the seriousness of the issue in the state, Negi explained the Himachal government has already sent a request to the Centre to amend the FCA to allow government land to be allotted to families affected by natural disasters.
