INDI alliance leaders betrayed people, conspired against Ambedkar: Chug

INDI alliance leaders betrayed people, conspired against Ambedkar: Chug

Patna, Apr 10 (UNI) Training gun at Congress and its alliance partners, especially RJD, BJP National General Secretary Tarun Chug alleged that the constituent units of INDI alliance crushed the rights of the backwards and oppressed sections for years and conspired against the principles of Baba Sahab Bheem Rao Ambedkar.
Accusing Congress and RJD of working against Dalits and backwards, he said that these parties had kept the Kaka Kalelkar Commission (1956) and the Mandal Commission (1980) pending for years and opposing them in Parliament.
While addressing a function organised by the BJP in honour of Ambedkar, he alleged that the RJD was supporting the Congress, which, under the leadership of Nehru and Rajiv Gandhi, was against the reservation.
Rajiv Gandhi's anti-reservation speech in Parliament on the Mandal Commission report and Rahul Gandhi's advocacy for the abolition of reservation on foreign soil expose the mindset of the Congress and its real attitude towards the backward classes, the BJP leader pointed out.
Chugh said that for the last seven decades, the Congress party has continuously insulted Dr Ambedkar, the Constitution of India and the spirit of social justice.
The parties like RJD, indulged in petty vote bank politics, were flattering Congress and were becoming partners in their sins for political gain, he accused.
Raising fingers at RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav, who had strongly opposed the emergency imposed by Congress and had joined the JP movement, he said that now, for taking political mileage, Yadav was standing with Congress.
He said that Indira Gandhi alone had toppled 50 elected governments, and about 90 governments were dismissed during the rule of Congress.
Chugh also mentioned the constant humiliation of Dr. Ambedkar by the Congress, which had conspired for the defeat of Ambedkar in 1951 and 1954 elections.
Regarding Bharat Ratna, Chug said that Congress leaders exposed their hatred towards Baba Saheb by conferring this award on themselves. Nehru in 1955 and Indira Gandhi in 1971 honoured themselves with Bharat Ratna, but Baba Saheb was denied this honour. Ambedkar was honoured with the most prestigious award only when Congress was out of power, and the BJP-supported government, which honoured Ambedkar in 1990.
Chug said that the Congress government did not allow even the 100th birth anniversary of Baba Saheb to be celebrated. Nehru's hatred towards Dr. Ambedkar was well known, he said that not a single memorial was built in memory of Baba Saheb during the regime of Congress, and it was possible only when other parties came to power.
He said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the BJP government developed Panchtirtha in the memory of Baba Saheb and worked to preserve and respect the Constitution.
