Indian Navy Car rally flagged off

Chennai, Mar 13 (UNI) The Indian Navy car rally ‘Nautical Trail’ was flagged off on Thursday by Flag Officer Tamil Nadu and Puducherry Naval Area, Rear Admiral Satish Shenai, from the naval station INS Adyar in Chennai.
He was accompanied by the Naval Officer in Charge of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry (NOIC), Commodore Suvarat Magon and the Station Commander of INS Adyar, Captain Manu Roy.
A total of 15 cars are participating in this rally that will crisscross the state covering key coastal cities and towns in districts such as Puducherry, Nagapattinam, Ramnad, Tuticorin and Kanyakumari.
About 30 naval officers and sailors are cruising the state in the rally, visiting educational institutions
to create awareness about the career opportunities in the Indian Navy, its pivotal role in safeguarding the country’s maritime interests and securing its maritime assets, its role in international diplomacy and creation of goodwill for the country among the comity of nations, rendering humanitarian assistance and disaster relief whenever required by the civil administration and several other activities.
