Lucknow, Apr 12 (UNI) Gujarat Titans posted a competitive 180 for six in their allotted 20 overs against Lucknow Super Giants in the 26th match of the Indian Premier League 2025 at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium here on Saturday.
Opting to bowl first after winning the toss, the home side struck at regular intervals despite a solid 120-run opening partnership between GT skipper Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan. Gill led from the front with a brisk 60 off 38 balls, hitting six fours and a six at a strike rate of 157.89, while Sudharsan contributed 56 off 37 deliveries.
Once the openers were dismissed in quick succession — Gill falling to Avesh Khan in the 13th over and Sudharsan caught off Ravi Bishnoi’s bowling an over later — Gujarat’s momentum dipped. Bishnoi returned with figures of 2 for 36, also accounting for the wicket of Washington Sundar, while Shardul Thakur picked up two crucial scalps including Sherfane Rutherford (22) and Rahul Tewatia for a duck.
Despite the stutter in the death overs, Shahrukh Khan (11*) and Rashid Khan (4*) ensured the visitors reached a respectable total, aided by nine extras conceded by LSG bowlers.
For Lucknow, Thakur (2/34) and Bishnoi (2/36) were the pick of the bowlers. Avesh Khan and Digvesh Singh Rathi chipped in with a wicket apiece.
LSG will now need 181 runs to notch up their fourth win of the season.
