Jammu, May 13 (UNI) The administration has banned the sale of fuel products like petrol and diesel in bottles and cans in the Kishtwar district of Jammu and Kashmir.
Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar (District Magistrate), Rajesh Kumar Shavan in an order stated that it has been brought to his notice that Petrol Pumps and Fueling Stations are reportedly selling Petrol and Diesel in cans, bottles, etc. which may pose a serious threat to the life and property of the general public and whereas, such practices not only is illegal, endangers but also poses a serious risk of fires hazards and sabotage and there appears to be need restrict the sale of petrol and diesel and other inflammable substances in cans, bottles or any other open container from petrol pumps.
“In exercise of powers vested in me under Section 163 of BNSS, 2023, I impose a complete ban on sale of petrol and diesel and other inflammable substances in cans, bottles or any other container within the territorial jurisdiction of District Kishtwar,” he said in an order.
Any person or fuel owners found violating this order shall be dealt with strictly under the relevant provision of law, he said, adding that the order comes into force with immediate effect and shall remain enforced till further order.
“The Senior Superintendent of Police, Kishtwar, is hereby directed to ensure strict compliance and enforcement of this order in letter and spirit. As the notice cannot be served individually on all concerned, this order is hereby passed ex parte. It is being promulgated for the information of the public at large,” he said.
