J&K Dy CM assures judicial inquiry into mysterious death of two Gujjar brothers

Srinagar, Mar 18 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Kumar Choudhary on Tuesday assured a judicial inquiry to ascertain the circumstances that led to the mysterious death of two Gujjar brothers.
The Deputy Chief Minister who was accompanied by the Health and Education Minister Sakeena Itoo and Advisor to Chief Minister Nasir Aslam Wani said this after visiting the bereaved family at Kulgam today and assured them all possible help by the government.
On February 13, three youth from Gujjar tribe—Mohammad Showkat Bajad, his brother Riyaz Ahmad Bajad and another person, Mukhtar Ahmad Bajad had gone to attend a function of a relative, went missing before reaching their destination from Qazigund.
Police recovered the bodies of Mohammad Showkat Bajad and Riyaz Ahmad Bajad residents of Chata Doonda, Rajouri (currently residing in Chandian Pajan, Qazigund) from the Vaishow Nallah at Mah Ashmuji area in Kulgam district recently. The search for Mukhtar Ahmad Bajad who is still missing is continuing by the police, SDRF and NDRF are searching for his body in the Nallah.
Choudhary said that a judicial inquiry would be conducted into the incident to ascertain the circumstances of the missing trio and later recovering the bodies of two brothers from the Vaishow Nallah.
He said that adequate compensation would be provided to the family as per the norms of the government and three daughters of the family would be adjusted as helpers somewhere.
“We have come here to console the family members and we equally share the grief with the bereaved family”, the Deputy CM told media persons.
The advisor to Chief Minister Aslam Wani while expressing grief over the unfortunate incident said that “it is necessary to know the circumstances that led to the death of two brothers and missing another”.
“We have already requested the Lieutenant Governor administration to hold a complete inquiry into the incident”, Wani said, adding “ everyone should know what was the reason for their missing and subsequent recovery of the bodies of two brothers from the Nallah Vaishow”.
He said similar incidents happened in Kathua and Kulgam that the children first went missing and later their bodies were recovered in mysterious circumstances.
“The truth should come to the fore” the CM advisor said, adding “if it was an accident it should be known or there is any conspiracy behind their killing it should also be known”.
