Jammu, May 13 (UNI) Security forces on Tuesday defused one live shell close to the Line of Control in Naushera tehsil of Rajouri district in Jammu and Kashmir.
Officials said, "The security forces found one live shell in a village while clearing the affected areas after the India-Pakistan ceasefire on the border."
The shell was defused on the spot, they said.
Jammu and Kashmir Police, because of the presence of unexploded shells in the border areas, have already issued an advisory and appealed to the border dwellers in Poonch and Rajouri districts not to touch them and immediately report about the explosives to the nearby police stations.
'Do not approach or touch any unexploded shells. Immediately report any sighting of an unexploded shell to the Police without delay and stay away from the area where the shell is located.' Police advised.
