Jammu, Apr 28 (UNI) The State Investigation Agency (SIA), Jammu, has made a significant breakthrough in the investigation of a case relating to the recovery of 33 kilograms of heroin, by arresting the key accused pn Tuesday.
As per the official comminique, Harjit Singh, resident of Kasel, Tehsil and District Tarn Taran, Punjab who has been identified as a key accused, has been arrested from Punjab by a team of SIA J&K.
Investigation haS revealed that Harjit Singh played a pivotal role in establishing a network between Amritpal Singh alias Fouji (already arrested) and Amritpal Singh Baath, (currently absconding and suspected to be in a foreign country , affiliated with the Khalistan Zindabad Force), the alleged kingpin of this transnational drug cartel.
Harjit Singh, operating from his own shop, worked to build and coordinate this illicit network, it read and further said that acting on Harjit’s motivation and assurance, Amritpal Singh alias Fouji got into this network and collected multiple heroin consignments from the border areas in Jammu and subsequently handed them over to associates of Amritpal Singh Baath in Punjab.
The arrest of Harjit Singh is expected to shed further light on the structure and operations of this extensive drug syndicate, with broader implications for cross-border narco-terror networks, it said.
