JD(U) slams Prashant for his promise to lift liquor ban in Bihar

Patna, July 3 (UNI) JD(U) today slammed "Jan Suraaj " leader Prashant Kishor for his promise to
lift liquor ban in Bihar, saying it was reflection of anti students and anti poor mindset.
Senior JD(U) leader and Bihar Excise and Prohibition Minister Ratnesh Sada told media persons here that liquor ban was imposed in Bihar, to protect interests of students, women and poor.
Liquor ban in Bihar was appreciated all across the country and demands were also raised in several states to take similar measures there, he added.
" It is unfortunate that Jan Suraaj leader Kishor has promised to lift liquor ban in Bihar if voted to power, as it is reflection of his anti students, anti poor and anti women mindset," Sada said adding that people of Bihar particularly women had extended their support to Chief Minister Nitish Kumar
in taking decision to impose liquor ban.
Kishor during his ongoing " Badlao Yatra " had promised earlier that liquor ban in Bihar would be lifted if his party was voted to power in next state assembly elections.
He had alleged that there was no prohibition in Bihar as liquor was openly sold in black market at higher prices and home delivery was being made, causing losses to state exchequer.
Only liquor shops were closed but liquor was being sold in whole Bihar and it was a well known fact, he remarked.
