Ktk BJP MLA Yatnal demands CBI probe into honey trap scandal

Bengaluru, Mar 21 (UNI) The Karnataka Assembly witnessed high drama on Friday as BJP MLA Basanagouda R Patil Yatnal demanded a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe into alleged honey trap and blackmail attempts targeting elected representatives in the state.
The issue sparked a massive uproar, with BJP legislators storming the well of the House, tearing papers, and staging a dharna against the Congress government.
In a letter to Karnataka Home Minister Dr G Parameshwara, Yatnal raised concerns over what he termed an orchestrated attempt to entrap and blackmail legislators for political gains. Citing discussions from the Karnataka Budget session on March 20, he asserted that such tactics undermine democratic principles and violate the rights of elected representatives.
