LG Sinha denies overreach, cites Reorganisation Act amid row with elected govt

Srinagar, Apr 4 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir Lt Governor Manoj Sinha on Friday rebuffed the allegations of encroaching into elected government’s domain, saying he has acted responsibly and acted entirely within the domain defined by Reorganization Act.

“I want to make it absolutely clear — the Parliament passed the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganization Act in 2019, and I am saying with responsibility that I have acted entirely within the domain defined by that Act,” a video available on social media showed Sinha defending his decision.

Police said acting under Section 68-F of the NDPS Act, they attached a residential house and one kanal of land in Sallar, valued at Rs 70 lakhs, belonging to Bashir Ahmad Wani, involved in a 2018 narcotics case.
