Mumbai, Apr 25 (UNI) The Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) on Friday announced a series of relaxations and concessions for the victims of the terrorist attack in Pahalgam on April 22, expressing deep grief over the loss of innocent lives.
In a statement issued here, LIC said it is committed to standing by the families affected by the tragic incident and will ensure speedy settlement of claims to provide financial relief to the bereaved.
Siddhartha Mohanty, Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of LIC, announced that several concessions have been approved to mitigate the hardships faced by the claimants of LIC policies.
Notably, in lieu of standard death certificates, LIC will accept any Government records confirming the death of the policyholder in the terrorist attack or any compensation paid by the Central or State Government as valid proof of death.
"All efforts will be taken to ensure that the affected families are contacted and that the claims are settled at the earliest," the statement said.
Claimants can approach the nearest LIC Branch Office, Divisional Office, or Customer Zone for assistance. LIC has also set up a dedicated helpline at 022-68276827 to facilitate queries and support for the victims’ families.
