Mumbai, Apr 14 (UNI) Maharashtra Governor C P Radhakrishnan on Monday appealed public to make efforts to realise Bharat Ratna Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar's dream of social transformation and a society based on social and economic equality.

Speaking at a programme organised to mark 134th birth anniversary of Dr Ambedkar at Chaityabhoomi, Dadar in central Mumbai, he said that Dr Ambedkar is honoured as the architect of the Constitution of India, a great social reformer and a patriot.

He also praised Dr Ambedkar's contribution to democracy, social equality and gender equality.

The Governor further said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi considered the Constitution as his guide while taking oath as the Prime Minister.

Radhakrishnan also expressed his belief that the Dr Ambedkar Memorial to be built at Indu Mills compound will be a source of inspiration for future generations, he added.
