Maha: Hindu Vidhidnya Parishad demands dissolution of Waqf Board

Kolhapur, Mar 22 (UNI) The Hindu Vidhidnya (lawyers) Parishad (HVP) on Saturday demanded that the Maharashtra goverment should dissolve State Waqf Board immediately for non-submission of its audit reports to the government for past 17 years.
In a press release here, Advocate Virendra Ichalkaranjikar, HVP's national president, said that all temples under jurisdiction of the Maharashtra government publish their audit reports on their respective websites, however, the Maharashtra Waqf Board has not submitted its audit reports to the government for past 17 years.
Unfortunately, the government has also not questioned the Waqf Board regarding this.

Adv Ichalkaranjikar further said that considering numerous complaints of land grabbing by the Waqf Board that have surfaced over past few years, this issue was extremely serious.
Drawing the government's attention to this matter, he has filed a written complaint with Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and state Minority Development minister Dattatray Bharne, demanding dissolution of the Waqf Board.
